Setup & Event Day
What does the host need to provide?
The host normally provides tables, chairs, plates and utensils for the party. We bring the hibachi cooking equipment needed for the experience.
How should I set up the tables and seating?
Since this is your private party, you’re welcome to decorate and arrange the space as you like.
For the hibachi setup, we recommend a U-shaped or long-table arrangement with enough space in front for the chef and grill so everyone can enjoy the cooking and show.
Our hibachi grill is approximately 36 inches wide and does not require electricity. Please leave enough room for the chef to set up and work comfortably.
What happens if it’s raining or cold?
We normally cook outdoors. If it’s cold or raining, the host is responsible for providing a suitable covered area where the chef can cook and stay protected from the weather.
If guests prefer to dine indoors or in the garage, another option is to set up the grill outside near an accessible doorway.
Our hibachi grill is approximately 36 inches wide and does not require electricity. Please make sure there is enough space for the chef and grill to set up and operate comfortably.
Can hibachi be set up in a garage or covered area?
A suitable garage or covered area may work when needed. Please make sure there is enough space for the chef and the approximately 36-inch-wide grill to set up and operate comfortably.
When will the chef arrive?
The chef usually arrives 5–15 minutes before the scheduled event time to set up.
How long does the hibachi experience last?
The full experience is typically around 1.5 hours, including setup and the hibachi experience.
Payment
When and how do I pay?
The final payment is made directly to the chef on the day of the event. Cash is our preferred payment method. We also accept Zelle and Venmo. A 3.75% processing fee applies to Venmo payments.
Can guests pay separately?
We do not split the final bill between individual guests. Since this is a private party, the person hosting the reservation is responsible for collecting individual payments if needed, and the total event balance is paid to the chef on the day of the event.
